Basement Freaks project started in 2005 by George Fotiadis a self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Thessaloniki/Greece. Started playing music in 93 where he was the songwriter & guitarist of an indie rock band. After many years working in his home studio George started composing & producing the Basement Freaks sound in 2005.
Debut cd album “Urban Jungle”released by Music Kitchen records a label based in Thessaloniki/Greece. The album got positive feedback from some great producers in the scene such as:Stereo Mcs & Kraak n Smaak.
Remixing various artists like Chris Joss/Rephrase/Ed Royal/KBbonus for some very well knowed labels as ESL music(U.S.A),Knowfool Records(AUSTRALIA),Invision Records(AUSTRIA),the Basement Freaks sound gets in the map of the global underground Funky Breakbeat scene. Feedback comes warmer this time from producers like :A.Skillz,Flow Dynamics, A.G.F.A,Smoove,Q Dup Foundation,Fort Knox Five,Valique who support the Basement Freaks tunes!
The 1st E.P vinyl released by “South City Recordings” a new label based from Atlanda/U.S.A in Oct07 2 Originals + 2 remixes from Ed Royal&Dj Enne + South City All Stars feater on the vinyl. A1 Track “Duru People” is taken from the debut cd album “Urban Jungle” B1 Track “Shapheshifter” is a collaboration track with “Michael Weisberger”a New Yorican Sax player.
Late 2007 Basement Freaks meets Quasamodo to collaborate on the track Move Sucka for releasing it on Goodgroove Records V/a Vinyl Goodgroove Remixed 3 released in Feb 08 by Goodgroove Records/U.K and very fast become one of the bestseller Breakbeat vinyls at Juno & FatCity online record shops.
