Lack Jemmon EP – Out now on 12″ Vinyl

Available now in the Juno Store:
http://www.juno.co.uk/products/lack-jemmon/652928-01/

A1. Olly’s Heartbeat
A2. Who’s Serious
B1. The Party Riddim
B2. Would You?!

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back with another big vinyl release from the amazing producer due Lack Jemmon, which consists of DJ Clairvo and Kid Panel, who are both well-established producers, DJs and label owners on their own. Together they are an explosive cocktailed of big funky grooves, filthy glitcy basslines and banging beats!

Lack Jemmon has been around for a couple of years and quickly signed up with the successful ghetto funk label Scour Records where they have dropped a few tunes and remixes. When the boys reached out to us and said they had 4 bangers they wanted to drop on vinyl we didn’t hesitate to say Hell Yeah!

The self-titled EP showcases their style of heavy breaks and funky basslines perfectly across the 4 bangers that are tried and tested for complete dancefloor destruction.

A1. The EP kicks off with a big remix on the catchy Olly’s Heartbeat, which has been infused with some heavy duty basslines and some rocking electronic funk beats. Pure fire!

A2. The party continues on the second cut where the boys are really getting serious on another catchy riff and some party rhymes to go with the steady beats and glichy basslines. Let’s not forget the beautiful hook from the original 90s dance anthem to complete this perfect joint – Who’s Serious!

B1. Just as we though this couldn’t get any better Lack Jemmon cooked up another banger for the b-side called The Party Riddim. As the name suggest it harvests some big reggae grooves and vocals mixed with some party rocking beats.

B2. To showcase a different side to the duo Would You?! is a funky house arrangement with some smooth disco grooves and a party rocking rap acapella. A perfect way to end this double A-sided wax of bangers!

You can always count on BBP for your doze of party rocking beats – and for keeping the vinyl alive…

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back at it again to provide the soundtrack to get you safely into the summer season with 10 blazing hot disco joints to set the dancefloors on fire across the planet.

After doing dedicated releases for oldskool funk, reggae we though it was time to celebate of the genres we love: DISCO!

We’ve teamed up with some of the very best in the Nu Disco scene as well as some of our own resident producers to give us that perfect blend of disco vibes mixed with breaks which makes up the Disco Paradise Sound.

Kicking this release off, is Dr Packer, with a perfect blend of disco, funk and soul, with cool vocals, and complimentary stabby bassline, this will make those shoulders lift to the groove.

Coming in with a horns heavy groover, DJ Kid Stretch, gets those Jupitor vocals rolling over, giving us that nostalgic feeling of once was.

Charlie Beale, known for his nu funk and diversity, shows his skills at nu disco, and doesn’t disappoint, with this banger full off scratchy samples, sexy synths and heavy kicks.

Keeping with the heavy kicks, Morlack provides us with a perfct disco track, brought into the 21st century. Big bass for those  bass bin lovers…

Bringing down the tempo, Shaka Loves You delivers nothing but smooth perfection. Rolling guitar and synth riffs, over a deep electro bass, and a steady groove, make it a tune for top down driving into the sunset. Following that is Basschimp, who gets it on with the amen break, and breaks the mould of nu disco. A real eye opener, hands in the air, dancefloor killer!!!

Now the tempo rises again!!! DJ Pied Piper, Disco extraordinaire, gets his groove on rolling through so many styles in pone track. This is a listener and a dancefloor filler, taking everyone on a real disco ride.

When it come to Leygo, one knows you get consistency. Always on point with this rolling bass tune, with vocal stabs, subtle horns, and a rhythm to die for.

Clap your hands and ”Jump To It”!!! Morongroover & Mr.Bristow clap and scratch their way through this breaker of a disco hit, to bring you all a nu disco track for those lovers of  that funky guitar!!

Don Dayglow is no stanger to the music scene, and it can definitely be heard… A tune full of musicality, so many sounds complimenting each other to create a masterpiece of nu disco.

It’s a pleasure for us at BBP to navigate the musical genres to keep our turntables glowing, while music changes you can rely on us for the big grooves, the smooth bangers and dancefloor dynamite to keep the parties going…

DJ Maars/Basschimp/Leygo/Ccokney Nutjob/Fredy High – Breakin’ The Riddim *OUT NOW*

  1. DJ Maars – Can I Get Wit Ya
  2. Basschimp – Under Mi Breakbeat
  3. Leygo – Here Come The Informer
  4. Cockney Nutjob – Bust A Jam
  5. Fredy High – Hold Me Tight

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings are on the themed tip again, this time getting their reggae vibes on. First came the “Swing that Funk” EP, and now comes “Breakin the Riddim”!! An EP of pure funky riddim feelings, BBP have hauled both veterans and new in to create their take on how they feel breaks and reggae should be put together…

DJ Maars kicks the EP off with his own unique style of riddim and this man is a master of the reggae/hip Hop mash, and with this, there’s no disappointment. Basschimp follows up with a banger of a tune called Under Mi Sensi, which has received the head-nod treatment, with big drums and bass to tear the dancefloor up. BBP’s resident funkster Leygo, brings the heavy vibes with his badboy of a track. Tight beats, accompanied by deep rolling bass and funky horns bring this already sweet tune to life.

No breaks compilation is complete without a bit of wobble, and who else better to provide it, than Cockney Nutjob. The man has skills, creating simple, yet great tunes that are almost impossible not to enjoy!!

Finally up-and-comer Fredy High brings the happy vibes. A real reggae riddim, with nice breaks, and a sweet vocal, make this tune a secret of the record box.

Reviews:
“DJ Badboe and Wiccatron’s Brekabeat Paradise Recordings masterfully re-enter our charts with their singular approach to breakbeat and electro – this time with a mini compilation! The Danish label has to be given a shout-out for having always done what they believe in, and it’s clear they got their strategy right. The numbers don’t lie, and these guys provoke quite a few downloads on the ol’ Juno system. Breakin The Riddim is a wild and diverse affair, full of sampling grace and brimming with party-ready material in every sense of the word. All of it, however, is heavily centered around break sampling and an audible ‘ragga’ influence – tunes from DJ Maars, Basschimp, Leygo, Cockney Nutjob and Fredy High are the only solution to any bashment or dancehall DJ wanting to fire the place up!” /Juno Review

“Looks like it’s time for another themed EP from Breakbeat Paradise and no prizes for guessing that a release entitled Breakin’ The Riddim with cover art featuring a dreadlocked breakdancer entails a marriage of breakbeat and various reggae-related styles. No prizes either for guessing that it’s richer in bangers than a Walls sausage factory…” /Read complete 5-star review on monkeyboxing.com

B2. Turntill & Merlin feat. Doppia Erre & Sky 189 – Break A Day (B-Side Remix)
B3. Turntill & Merlin feat. Doppia Erre & Sky 189 – Break A Day (Quincy Jointz Remix)

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings has teamed up with The Chosen Few Records to proudly presents the latest escapade of TURNTILL & MERLIN: “BREAK A DAY“. This tune is dedicated to all the b-boys and other funkateers worldwide that love the drumsound and the funk. The MCs on the song are DOPPIA ERRE from Apulia, Italy and SKY 189 from Capetown, South Africa.

Both are true Hip Hop heads that love the art of breaking! In the hook you hear the sweet, catchy voices of Stella Baraldo and Dominique Bouvier. A real powerful b-boy anthem and club joint alike, which is interpreted in five additional versions on a six track 12” vinyl release.

Guests on the A-Side are DJ KID STRETCH (Greece), FUNKY BOOGIE BROTHERS (Belarus) who is giving the tune a new flow in the oldskool b-boy direction. On the flip side we have invited some of the very best from the Ghetto-Funk scene to give the tunes an injection of electro vibes and big basslines. For this job we called upon the dream team DUBRA X ARTEO (Latvia) and ghetto funk superstar B-SIDE (United Kingdom) who are always armed to the teeth with big beats and electro basslines. Last but not least we sent for a true veteran and pioneer in the Nu Funk scene QUINCY JOINTZ (Germany) to do his thing on the electro side of this vinyl release.

The funky beats and breaks has once again brought people together from all over the world to collaborate on this big release that not only tips the hat to the b-boy community but also pushes the limit to the new eras of funk music. Something we share the vision for and feel strongly about on both Breakbeat Paradise Recordings and at The Chosen Few Records.

  1. BadboE feat. MC Shureshock – Under The Spell (Original Mix)

  3. BadboE feat. MC Shureshock – Under The Spell (Dr Packer Remix)

  5. BadboE feat. MC Shureshock – Under The Spell (Trotter Remix)
  6. BadboE feat. MC Shureshock – Under The Spell (Original – Instrumental Mix)

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings has brought in the big guns for another huge spring release by label owner and funky breaks veteran BadboE. When BadboE returns for an EP drop you can expect loads of party flavors, big beats and of cause his signature happy vibes. To maximize the party atmosphere, he turned to old friend and partner in crime from down under – Mc Shureshock who once again spits fire with style and putting us all Under The Spell of this addictive party rockin’ jam.

As so many times before BadboE has done back deep into the treasure chest of funk and soul and brought out a big groove, which he has flipped around and brought into the new millennium, by adding his consistency party breaks flavor and electronic funk basslines.

On remix duties we find some of the very best the scene has to offer: The ghetto blastin Phibes brothers are bringing heat on their bassy hardrockin remix that throws some big synthlines into the mix. Nu Disco sensation Dr Packer is rocking the funky breaks on his undeniably groovy remix while discObeta slows it down for some chill-out vibes on their doOva remix. Finally, funky breaks producer Trotter pays back on BadboE recent remix by doing a rerub for this EP.

The package comes with instrumental mix of the original for the DJs who want to put their own take on groovy track.

Reviews:
“No need to look further if you’re in need of heavyweight funky breaks with original raps on top this month since Badboe‘s got you covered. It’s hard to imagine that Under The Spell will fail to cast its enchantment across dancefloors, turning as it does on a funky sample heavily buried in crunchy drums and synth fx with Oz rapper MC Shureshock busting bars on the mic. As if that isn’t enough, this release comes with four remixes and the instrumental.  Phibes are under a wobble spell, Dr Packer‘s under a disco-ish spell, Trotter‘s under a stripped-back breaks spell and, best of all, DiscoBeta are under a Native Tongues boom-bap spell! Magic.”

GRAND SLAM/GRAND MOTHERS FUNCK/NASA FUNK/A MAN ABOUT A DOG: Funk Originals – Out Now!

Out now on 12″ Vinyl – 45 RPM:
Available on Juno:
http://www.juno.co.uk/products/grand-slam-grand-mothers-funck-funk-originals/639253-01/

A1. Grand Slam – Get on down
A2Grand Mothers Funck – The Dog (Throw Me A Bone Mix)
B1NASA FUNK – Stand Up
B2. A Man About a Dog – Pollos

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is turning back time to the early 70s when funk music was made by talented musicians joining forces in bands with the objective to create the next big funk anthem. So many big tunes and classic funk productions came out of this era and it also harnessed a new breed of funk bands across the globe who is dedicated to continuing the legacy of the funk music in the new millennium.

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings has proudly collected 4 bands to represent the new era of funk from various parts of Europe. German based Grand Slam, Swiss funk band Grand Mothers’ Funck, Nasa Funk from Greece and A Man About a Dog from the UK has all provided original funk jams to this groovy 12” vinyl.

Leading the way on the a-side is Grand Slam who has created a big summer tune which sits in well with some of the current radio funk jams and will be sure to bring the ladies on the floor. Grand Slam has been around since 1985 by incorporating various flavors from Rock, Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop. The Get On Down jam from their upcoming release due May 2017 shows just how its done to do classic oldskool P-Funk which sounds as fresh as anything else on the radio here in 2017! Produced by (and featuring) veteran P-Funk legend Gary “Mudbone” Cooper!

Grand Mother’s Funck means business on the straight up funky The Dog tune taken from their brand new album Take The Money. A special edit was done for this release as they are celebrating their 12th album release from a legendary veteran funk band who has been tearing up the Swiss funk scene for over 23 years now.

On the flipside the funk is riding equally high as Nasa Funk rolls in their Stand Up jam. Straight outta Thessaloniki, Greece comes this 5-man band with vocalist George Perin leading the way. This tune is produced with old friend of label Basement Freaks.

Last but certainly not least we turn our attention to the UK where the band A Man About a Dog has cooked up a latin-inspired and jazzy funk tune called Pollos.

That sums up the first all original funk release to be dropped on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings. After digging in a sampling so many great funk tunes over the years, this seemed like only right way to pay our respect to the genre of music we love and cherish so much.

Reviews:

“Perennial party boosters, Breakbeat Paradise dive into spring with a fire quartet of modern funk. With bands repping across Europe, it’s a global groove affair as longstanding German funkateers buss up big boogie hooks on “Get On Down”, Swiss soulboys Grand Mothers Funck up the tempo with the sweaty floor-focussed groove of “The Dog” and Nasa Funk fly the p-funk flag so hard and proud they need a new pole. UK’s A Man About A Dog rips up the finale with a scratched-out Latin heater. Original.” /Juno Review

“Breakbeat Paradise is a label which has made a name for itself over the last decade and more by providing party breakbeat junkies with all manner of musical goodies, not a few of which have made cheeky usage of samples borrowed from the golden era of syncopated soul. Now the label is returning the favour to the funk with an EP of all-original 70s-style tracks” /Monkeyboxing.comRead full review here!
