Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back with another big vinyl release from the amazing producer due Lack Jemmon, which consists of DJ Clairvo and Kid Panel, who are both well-established producers, DJs and label owners on their own. Together they are an explosive cocktail of big funky grooves, filthy glitcy basslines and banging beats! After little over a year of being vinyl exclusive – this 4-track beast is finally ready to be unleashed to the digital audience!
Lack Jemmon has been around for a couple of years and quickly signed up with the successful ghetto funk label Scour Records where they have dropped a few tunes and remixes. When the boys reached out to us and said they had 4 bangers they wanted to drop on vinyl we didn’t hesitate to say Hell Yeah!
The self-titled EP showcases their style of heavy breaks and funky basslines perfectly across the 4 bangers that are tried and tested for complete dancefloor destruction.
A1. The EP kicks off with a big remix on the catchy Olly’s Heartbeat, which has been infused with someheavy duty basslines and some rocking electronic funk beats. Pure fire!
A2. The party continues on the second cut where the boys are really getting serious on another catchy riff and some party rhymes to go with the steady beats and glichy basslines. Let’s not forget the beautiful hook from the original 90s dance anthem to complete this perfect joint – Who’s Serious!
B1. Just as we though this couldn’t get any better Lack Jemmon cooked up another banger for the b-side called The Party Riddim. As the name suggest it harvests some big reggae grooves and vocals mixed with some party rocking beats.
B2. To showcase a different side to the duo Would You?! is a funky house arrangement with some smooth disco grooves and a party rocking rap acapella. A perfect way to end this double A-sided wax of bangers!
You can always count on BBP for your doze of party rocking beats – and for keeping the vinyl alive…

- Ken – Closer To The Sun (Original Mix)
- Ken – Closer To The Sun (discObeta Remix)
- Ken – Closer To The Sun (Ursula 1000 Remix)
- Ken – Closer To The Sun (Mined & Forrest Remix)
- Ken – Closer To The Sun (Bezwun Remix)
Ken is blasting into the scene with an instant classic funky joint called Closer To The Sun, and is being accompanied by veteran established names on remix duties. US-based Kenhas a good ear for chilled funky hooks and has cooked up a perfect example on the title tune on this EP.
Good friend and partner producers from discObetais taking it further down the chilled path with their down tempo trippy mix which will be sure to please your ear. discObetahas featured on multiple compilations and remixes as well as dropped the Chinese Robots EP right here on BBP.
Legendary electro disco funk producer from New York Ursula 1000 also adds his signature treatment to the Closer To The Sunjam by adding some catchy electro synth and beats to keep the trippy vibes going strong.
German producer-duo Mined & Forrest takes the track to the dancefloor by applying a well-arranged midtempo groove and some ghetto funk beats. The track is spiced up with a good doze of catch vocal samples for the ghetto funkers.
Last but not least we invited Australian bass producer Bezwunwho cooked up a smooth housy bass mix to keep the party rocking well into the night.
Lots of diversity and twists on a classic original joint on this EP to keep things funky as always – right here on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings.
Bio on Ken:
KEN ascends from a state: The range of perception, understanding, vision and knowledge. Bringing the debut single “Closer To The Sun” to life with a crunchy break beat, a flurry of sitars and and infectious blues style vocal. Hailing from the North East (U.S.), lifelong friends and collaborators of discObeta, KEN is a seasoned musician and songwriter. There are rumors that KEN also works with well know downtempo artists holding duties as a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and engineer. Not much more is known about this multi-talented artist… and he likes it that way. KEN has had his share of label deals, brushes with famous artists and has a unique relationship with the backbone of one the greatest bands in the world. Where the many desperately seek the limelight, this stoic artist strays away from it and would rather relish in the wash of melody, beats and the exotic. KEN may or may not be the future of music and he likes it that way. This is surely not the last time we will hear from this mysterious music man. Always in the lab cooking up something new to provoke and stimulate your feets and ears. KEN cares about music as a healer and soundtrack to life.

Pecoe is back to follow up on last year’s successful EP drop – with yet another banging 4-track EP showcases some new production skills from the notorious beat master and maskup champ Pecoe.
On the Funky Shizzle EP – Pecoe is taking us on a journey thorough beats and breaks – from funky sounds via some reggae vibes and over to some dancefloor heavy street jams. Pecoe has one of the most sought after soundcloud pages for funky mashup but on this release, he is taking a more serious approach on the productions and spicing it up with just enough classic samples to keep it interesting.
The EP kicks off with the Funky Shizzle, which features some serious funky grooves and some banging beats. This is followed up with a badass twist of a classic on the Delight jam before turning on the smoothness on the High Ground track, which also adds a new twist to a classic joint. Things are ending with a banger on the Game Face jam, which delivers some big beats and rolling basslines to keep the dancefloors moving.
Yet again Breakbeat Paradise Recordings keeping it funky on those dancefloors across the globe this summer. More badass funky grooves are coming soon. Stay tuned.
“Let the funky times roll as Pecoe joins forces with the almighty Breakbeat Paradise Recordings on this brand new four track collection, destined to drag even the shyest mover into a swift jig. We begin with the subtle grooves and smooth vocal sampling of ‘Game Face’ before moving into the deep riffs and stirring horn riffs of the title track ‘Funky Shizzle’. Next up, we step into the more hardstyle drum processing and minor piano chord breakdowns of ‘Delight’ before finishing up terrifically on the mash up masterclass known as ‘High Ground’, which forges together some classic soul and r&b samples over choppy drum loops and subtle basslines.”

- Captain Flatcap– Let’s Have Some Fun!
- Captain Flatcap– Bong Hits From A Preacher Man (feat. Isabel Drake)
- Captain Flatcap– Rat Race (feat. Isabel Drake)
Aww yea! This time with Kurnel MCand Isabel Drake at their side, Captain Flatcap are back with an all-new, all-encompasing, genre-busting EP – ‘Squelchedelic Sounds’. The flavours of swing-garage in ‘In My Blood’ and swing-funk in ‘Let’s Have Some Fun!’ make for two dirty DJ gems, guaranteed to get any crowd moving like puppets on strings! ‘Bong Hits From A Preacher Man’ is a creative and glitching collage of various classic soul, hip-hop, dub (and a certain smokeable something!) styles and samples! To finish, ‘Rat Race’ shows off the best of Isabel Drake’s smooth and soulful voice, accompanied by some deep and organic instrumentation and bass roars! As you’d expect the EP is tied cohesively together by parading a multitude of familiar Flatcap instruments, including the distinctive flute and trumpet parts.
“On this one Breakbeat paradise continue their seriously impressive 2017 run by employing the services of Captain Flatcap for a fantastic four track selection by the name of ‘Squelchedelic Sounds’. We kick off with the ruckus of a recording with ‘In My Blood’ alongside the infamous vocals of MC Kurnel. Next up we skip into the fidgetty funk of ‘Lets Have Some Fun’ which combines pan flutes and synths in and extended call and respond movement for a real turn up. Following this we have ‘Bong Hits From A Preacher Man’, which is a classic rework of you know what, featuring fantastic work from Isabel Drake. Isabel also features on the final track ‘Rat Race’ which takes a dubstep format with crunchy lead synths rolling out smooth melodies.”/Juno
