Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very excited to welcome back one of the hottest acts in the ghetto funk scene right now: Phibes who is back with the second installment of their Ghetto Beats series.
Just like the first volume the jams are scientifically designed for dance floor destruction. On Ghetto Beats Vol. 2 the Phibes brothers has gone back into the goldmine of Funk and Soul and dusted off some real classic jams and applied their signature beat bangin’ bass booming treatment.
From start to finish this EP has all it takes to get a party started. The soulful grooves and vocals, high octane beats and bass and hip hop acapellas to keep us hyped. Phibes is once again showcasing what ghetto funk is all about: Bringing back funk anthems in fresh bass infused arrangements. This is how it’s done!
Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is proud to delivery once again the finest this scene has to offer.
“Phibes specialises in delivering no-nonsense floor filling party jams. His Ghetto Beats release from late last year undoubtedly soundtrack many a Christmas and New Year party. Well now it’s Spring and he’s decided its time for a follow up. Volume 2 has a hip-hop theme, beginning with opener “Gangstas N Honeys” where a classic Nas rap is set to a perky, tough big beat backing track. Vintage sounding brass is added to the crowd-pleasing formula on “Real Hip Hop”, “Belong To You” mixes electro and 70s soul and things wrap up with the arms-in-the-air anthem “Getting Funky Round Here”. ”

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back to mark the 10th year of being in the ghetto rockin; funky breaks business. To celebrate that we’ve decided to hit you hard with a 7-track vinyl release to represent the very best of what the label has to offer. 7 of the very best producers in the funky breaks scene have joined forces on this ruthless funky bomb of an EP!
With the Badass Funk EP the BBP All-Star team is taking it back to the timeless sound of the oldskool that the label has kept on rockin’ since they first started in 2006. Since then the label has navigated through related genres like Nu Funk and Ghetto Funk without loosing track of the base core. Every since the first release: Sound of Invasion by BadboE the label has kept a strong grip on the funk, the breaks and the street vibes of the oldskool.
To kick things off we brought back 2 of the very best producers in the game The Breakbeat Junkie & DJP, who’s been responsible of some of the classic BBP tunes like Freak Hop Part 3 and Represent The Style. Here they are back in better shape than ever to do their thing on the Go Off jam.
To follow things up we call for a true ghetto funk phenomenon: DJ B-Side, who just started to drop party bombs for us last year. But B-Side has been a household name in the ghetto funk scene for years and has released several legendary EPs for the Ghetto Funk label.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any funkier we brought in DJ Maars from down under to tease us with the skanky funk jam: Work That Funk.
It wouldn’t be much of a BBP anniversary release without a tune from label owner and funk breaks veteran: BadboE. All striped down to the core BadboE’s cooked up a funked up jam that oozes oldskool funk from start to finish.
Moving on with more skillful mashup business from one of the scene’s favorite DJ and producer: Roast Beatz. This is the first release from Roast Beatz on BBP since his epic album release: Luxury Boom Bap that dropped last year.
The Boom Bap continues on the track from BBP residents Mako & Mr Bristow, who team up for some more of their addictive throwback funk business.
Last but certainly not least a true expect of the oldskool: Morongroover is ending things big with his Good ‘ol Days joint.
Time goes by but it has become evident that the funk stays – and BBP is right here to make sure it will. Stay tuned for another 10 years of funk, beats and breaks…
“Blimey. Hold the floor. When a label like Breakbeat Paradise celebrates ten years in the business you know you can expect some heavyweight party breaks action and with a name like Badass Funk EP – you know that shit is going to be stanker than JB’s jock strap. Don’t be expecting any wobble though because part of this one’s charm is that in celebrating a labelestablished before the rise of the wobble, the content reflects a time when all you needed to rock that spot were phat breaks and samples.
Flying the funky flame are a range of BBP regulars from grizzled veterans The Breakbeat Junkie & DJP and label don Badboe, to relative newcomer Morongroover via ghetto funk wunderkind B-Side, reggae-hip-hop fiend DJ Maars, regular hip-hop fiend DJ Roast Beatz (in non-hip-hop mode) and nineties refugee Mako in cahoots once more with his sometime partner in crime – the easy rollin’ Mr Bristow.”

- JiggyJoe & Jazz.K.lipa feat. Tatted Up Toon – Welcome

- JiggyJoe & Skeewiff feat. Claire G. Phunk – Shake It (Rory Hoy Remix)
Breakbeat Paradise Recordings presents JiggyJoe with his EP named ‘Shake It’. The ‘Shake It’ EP combines JiggyJoes unique mix of rare grooves, old school hip hop, ghetto funk, breakbeat and dubstep along with some latin, arabian style and 90s synth flavors.
The title tune is produced with a true legend in the Funky Breaks scene: Skeewiff, who is known and loved for his breakbeat contributions – dating all the way back to the bigbeat era. Skeewiff has released a number of albums on Jalapeno Records as well as his own Pedigree Cuts and we are proud to now have him feature on BBP release. Another legend features on a remix for this EP – Ursula 1000 from New York is throwing down some bangin’ beats on his version of the Shake It track. Finally the B-side features countryman Jazz.K.lipa in the co-pilot chair on the Welcome track.
JiggyJoe has been a DJ for 13 years playing various styles of music and has played in various parts of the world including his homeland Germany, the UK, Spain, USA, Russia, Canada and many more. With guests on this EP including ‘Claire G Phunk & Rayna MC’ who were featured on BadboEs ‘Pump up the Funk’ album from 2012 and newcomer ‘Tatted up Toon’ this promises to be an EP worth waiting for.
Shake It EP is the very first JiggyJoe’s artist EP to come out on vinyl and it’s also the first glance of what to expect of JiggyJoe’s full length album called Get Jiggy!.
The digital version of the EP comes with a never released Rory Hoy remix of the title tune.

Check out the latest Breakbeat Paradise, Party Breaks Vol.1 banger from DJ B-Side – BBP117:
www.junodownload.com/products/b-sid…-1/2932484-02/ and the fresh up sizzly debut from Funkliners now on BBP119:
“Funkliners are all about easy, good times, which is a good thing because that’s exactly what the Breakbeat Paradise label is all about too. Here they’ve cooked up two sizzlers that will get even the most difficult dancefloor moving – “Mumble” which is all perky, cut up funk samples and tough beats, and the title track, which keeps those big beats but holds a more stripped back groove. There are also two remixes: Wiccatron‘s scratchy rejig and Rory Hoy‘s bright and shiny 4/4 pop-house jam.” /Juno Review

The long awaited first ep from Funkliners is finally here on Breakbeat Paradise recordings. These guys have hit the scene hard, already supporting the likes of Krafty Kuts, DC Breaks, Bart & Bakers, as well as a host of other DJ slots. They’re hitting the funky road running, so watch out for future releases, and enjoy their debut single, including remixes from Rory Hoy and Wiccatron featuring Aliens in Denmark (A.i.D).
Formed in May of 2014, Funkliners are a Yorkshire (UK) duo made up of “Snuff” and “Just Jess”. Having been friends, and been on the same line up more than a few times over the previous few years, they were booked to play at Illuminaughty in Manchester as a b2b set. On the night they played alongside “The Chicken Brothers” and “The Itchy and Skratchy djs” to a full house, and have never looked back. Since that moment “Funkliners” were born! Having played at numerous events individually they quickly began racking the gigs up as Funkliners. Snuff comes from a background of djing and producing heavy dubstep and dnb, whilst just jess played more the electro and funky house side. This can often make for a jeckyll and hyde style set with one playing the funkier, hip hoppy side, and one playing the glitchier, heavier side! In the past year these guys have supported A.Skills, DJ Clumsy, Kotch, Bear Thrylls, Father Funk and loads more coming this year. They have also just been given the honour of being UK representatives of “Sideshow Kuts” for the United Kingdom. They run events worldwide and Funkliners will be throwing host of parties over 2016 with loads of special guests so keep peeled here on BBP for updates…
A bit of info about the remixers: Wiccatron aka Kim Sørensen is the Danish co-founder, producer and DJ of Breakbeat Paradise Recordings, best known for his love of breaks and funk and all things in between. He mixes up a great fusion of new Bass N Breaks N Funk. Aliens in Denmark (AiD) is based in Odense Denmark, but originally from England, the Aliens in Denmark are DJ One and En-Jay-Tea. DJ One scratches his way onto Wiccatrons remix of Funkliners “Funk Like This”, accompanying the down-tempo funkiness of this 102 bpm head-bopper.
Rory Hoy is a Multi- Award Winning Music Producer/Film Maker and DJ. He was the Winner of the Yorkshire Young Achiever of the Year Award 2012 hosted by ITV, in the Arts Category, which he won alongside actor Mikey North who plays Gary Windass in Coronation St. He has 5 critically acclaimed albums under his belt. This time he brings us his banging 80’s inspired funky breaks remix, with original scratching as well to get the party going.
Another banging EP from your one-stop-shop for everything you need in funky beats and breaks…

We’re happy to welcome back Calagad 13 to the label. After releasing some bad ass vinyls on his label Fresh Kingdom, Calagad 13 has now returned to drop some oldskool b-boy breaks for us right here on BBP.
The Music Is My Life EP really takes us back to the oldskool with some 80s electro boogie as well as some funky soul chop up’s and some classic breakbeat material. This release is dedicated to the breakdancing scene, but it does have crossover appeal to the club scene, where these jams could be doing some damage on the dancefloors as well. As we are a sucker for the oldskool here at BBP, this EP had no problem fitting right into our catalog.
Look out for the catchy funky guitar licks on the Fonkey Callin’ tune, and the funky JB sounding Think Positive, the bad ass b-boy bumpers like The Great Battle and the Electro Boggie Nation and the soulful Flow tune and Slow (Bonus Breath). Not to forget the title tune Music Is My Life which is already a well-known classic tune in the b-boy breaks scene – but on this EP in a previously unreleased Human Beatbox Version. The EP comes with instrumental cuts of each tune for your mixing pleasure.
As always BBP is here to give you the original vibe and keeping the breaks and the funk alive for 2016 and beyond.
5-star review from Monkeyboxing.com:
“ 120 bpm plus and makes you want to leap around like a hare on hot coals? Gotta be b-boy breaks. Welcome to a world where if it doesn’t give you that itch, it ain’t worth scratching. There are no such shortcomings for The Fonkey Calling though – the amping opener to Calagad 13‘s triumphal return to BBP (their Music Is My Life EP) which carries enough firepower to see offany battle rivals. B-boy breaks don’t have to be over 120 bpms of course and actually the rest of the EP isn’t – but that ain’t mean it don’t rock the spot. Think Positive is a JB cut-up dance jam, The Great Battle pits warlike guitars and epic horns against a rolling breakbeat, Electric Boggie (surely ‘boogie’) Nation comes on like something off the soundtrack to Shogun Assassin, Flow makes like the breaks are a jazz thing and as a Brucie bonus you also get old classic (also the title track) in its human beatbox incarnation. Well I say that’s the Brucie bonus – you also get four of the cuts in instro form too, and if that’s not a Brucie bonus – I don’t know what is!”
