The duo of Lack Jemmon was founded by Kid Panel and DJ Clairvo during the summer of 2013 in order to bring their musical vision alive – the marriage of tricky glitch-hop, heavy bass-music and happy funk. Their productions have been picked up immediately by the Best New Label of Breakspoll 2013, Scour Records offering the first deal to the guys.
By now, their tracks are being played all around the globe, enjoying the full support received by the majority of the scene of bass heavy funk music, which has lead their remix made for See-I and for The Empresarios on Fort Knox Recordings ending up at the 2nd place of Beatport‘s Glitch Hop Charts and remaining in the Top100 for months.
Nowadays, having released decent amount of free downloads on their Soundcloud, Lack Jemmon still keep on delivering charts-banger tracks. Their latest track they had nailed together with The Kurnel MC called Joan Jett, have been hitting the Breaks Charts of JunoDownload reaching No. 1 position as the part of Bring Back The Funk Vol. 4. compilation. Disappearing from the spot-light, Breakbeat Paradise Recordings decided last year to give Joan Jett a refreshment and the result ended up in a 6-tracker remix EP. Carefully selected producers from the board of the label have been invited to bring difference and versatility to the rock attitude of the original track. The remixers, hailing from the UK, Greece, Australia, Germany actually round up a real international EP that is being packed with heavy yet cathy dance-floor bangers.
In their DJ-sets, the Lack Jemmon dudes throw a unique blend of dynamic hip-hop, big-city funk and dirty breakbeats what they have been introducing to their local Budapest crowd at their club-nights aswell as to the dancefloors of Barcelona, London, Berlin or Bristol on regular basis so far..
Coming straight out of Budapest, newschool breaks hero Lack Jemmon returns to the Breakbeat Paradise imprint with for an official remix compilation of ‘Joan Jelt’ which features additional vocal work from The Kurnel MC. Breakbeat Paradise have arranged a fantastic range of features for this one, including Basschimp and Bezwun who both come forward with an outstanding electro reworks. We also here very creative funk redesigns from Mr Bristow, Minded & Forest, Funkanizer and Liberty Chaps, as well a Jellyfunk all star mix which comes as an additionally attached freebie.

- Morongroover – I Like It Like That
- Morongroover & Mr Bristow – Front To The Back
- Morongroover – Wizard of Oz
- Morongroover & Mr Bristow – Where You At
Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is back at your service, for all the funky disco lovers out there. Two BBP all-stars: Morongroover and Mr Bristow have joined forces on this project, which they have chosen to call: Ghetto Disco.
Basically it encapsulates 70s disco funk influences with a healthy dose of Moog bass, and merges it with classic MC hooks and scratches. This compilation gives you the style of music Morongroover & Mr Bristow have been pushing for the last six months and matches perfectly with the recent disco vibes that have been going on at the BBP camp.
The first tune from the producer team can be found on the recently released Disco Paradise, where Morongroover & Mr Bristow teamed up on the ‘Jump to It’ jam. Fast forward a few months and here we are will a full 4-track EP of the same kinda’ groovy stuff that makes up the Ghetto Disco sound.
The EP kicks off with a big groovy disco hook and some classic hip-hop vocals on a steady 4-to-the-floor disco beat on the I Like It Like That jam. Following that, Mr Bristow is brought in to put his expertise to work on the Front to The Back jam that adds some additional details to the mix in the form of bongos, shakers and heavy open hi-hats.
On the flipside we have another solo Morongroover joint, which perfects the Ghetto Disco concept with catchy bass lines and classic MC-ing on the Wizard of Oz. This jam will be sure to get activity on the dance floors, and has already been getting support by DJs including BadboE, who included it on his latest mixtape.
Last but certainly not least, the producer duo is back together for another slice of Ghetto Disco on the Where You At jam. The big moog bass, funky stabs and scratch hooks are all lined up for this EP to end at the top.
Stay tuned as more Ghetto Disco will be coming soon here on BBP…
“Moron and The Mister: a London b2b Bristol connection with more stripes than a tracksuit convention. Morongroove takes the lead with a block party busting disco strutter with vocals from the heart of the b-boy nucleus before Bristow joins the fray for a bass-slapping p-funk slapper. Deeper again Moron slinks so low to reveal a party under the stairs. And the party don’t stop until the last scratch and synth squiggle of the premium bass-slapping, key-sprinkling “Where You At” echo out. Vibey.”

“Gents – time to get your three-piece flared-leg suits on; ladies time to hit the wardrobe for a jersey wrap because Morongroover and Mr Bristow are shortly to go large with their Ghetto Disco EP on Breakbeat Paradise! The pair set out with the intention of funking you up till you boogie down and with opener I Like It Like That it’s Soul Train Disco Night manoeuvres from the off. Then, having got you making like a fly gangster glitterball boss, the pace picks up for Front To The Back‘s outright pumping nu-disco menace complete with scratch flourishes – a vibe that also defines pneumatic closer Where You At. This release though is all about The Wizard Of Ozwhich will have them trippin’ at the disco. Why? Because it blends People Under The Stairs’ The Wiz with the sound of Studio 54 in a manner not completely alien to P.U.T.S. themselves. And I can’t imagine anyone grumbling about that.
(Out 25 August on Juno/ 31 August globally on Breakbeat Paradise)”

- City Love
- Pull Up My Roots
- Stand By It’s On
Breakbeat Paradise Recordings has once again teamed up with Mr. Bristow to deliver yet another groovy EP of high-energy old-skool funky breaks.
On the City Love EP, Mr. Bristow takes it back to the roots of funk and soul and throws some golden era hip hop MC-ing into the mix, for maximum party flavour.
We’ve been hearing more old-skool beats and breaks from Mr. Bristow lately – both as a solo artist and as part of the successful duo Mako & Mr. Bristow. The pair has had a number of successful 7-inch vinyl releases this year (with support from Craig Charles on BBC 6 Music), as well as their Supersoul Rock N Roll EP that was released last year here on BBP.
The City Love EP is a special delivery for all those b-boys out there that like their beats broken and rhymes sharp, over a funky groove. All four cuts stay true to that recipe, but at the same time work perfectly in any modern mid-tempo party rocking dj set.
From the easy rockin’ grooves of the title tune City Love, to the funky disco breakin’ Pull Up My Roots – to the hyped flowin’ Stand By It’s On and the heavy breakin’ Lunar-Tune.
Already getting support on the Deep Fried Funk Show on NSB Radio and in the latest BadboE mixtape.
Keeping it real with the beats and breaks as usual on Breakbeat Paradise Recordings!
