Getting Funky Round Here

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is very excited to welcome back one of the hottest acts in the ghetto funk scene right now: Phibes, who are back with the second installment of their Ghetto Beats series.

Like the first volume the jams are specifically designed for dance floor destruction. On Ghetto Beats Vol. 2 the Phibes brothers have gone back into the goldmine of funk and soul, dusted off some classic jams and applied their signature beat bangin, bass booming treatment.

From start to finish this EP has what it takes to get a party started; soulful grooves, classic vocals and high octane midtempo beats glossed with hip hop acapellas to keep us hyped. Phibes is once again showcasing what ghetto funk is all about: Bringing back funk anthems in fresh bass infused arrangements. This is how it’s done!

Breakbeat Paradise Recordings is proud to deliver once again, one of the finest artists this scene has to offer.

A. Phibes are kicking the EP off in style as they take us back to the classic Motown vocals of the queen ‘o soul herself in Gangstas ‘n’ Honeys. The funky breaks and nod ya head basslines will be sure to get people up grooving and singing on the dancefloor.

B. Real Hip Hop is the spiritual intro of the EP, its huge big brass entry flows into a big glitch infused block rockin old school joint sprinkled with a golden age pella , powerful hard hitting synths and that essential mid tempo bounce.

C. The third cut is another huge female vocal driven classic Belong To You. The long build and release into the huge bassline and rolling mid song break will ensure to make this a peaktime weapon for a long time to come.

D. Last but not least Getting Funky Round Here. This booty shaking funk anthem showcases the latest of Phibes productions. With clean trumpets, fresh prince acapellas and a stomp style bass, I’m sure youll agree that this jam concludes an EP of all killer and zero filler.

With this EP Phibes cements their name as one of the leaders in the ghetto funk scene.
